“A World Away” is the theme for this fall’s Dinner & Movie series. The first film, “Persepolis” will be shown on Monday, August 29 at 6 p.m. Based on Marjane ‘Marji’ Statrapi’s graphic novel about her life in pre and post-revolutionary Iran and then in Europe, the film traces her growth from child to rebellious, punk-loving teenager in Iran. In the background are the growing tensions of the political climate in Iran in the 70s and 80s, and the Iran/Iraq war. A light meal will be available and Deane Tucker, PhD. returns to lead the discussions. The film is rated PG-13 and is 95 minutes.
