Rawhide…

Two young men left Ohio on a great adventure – a trip west on the fabled Oregon Trail. But, hard work and long hours wasn’t enough to overcome the treachery they found waiting for them in the Dakota Territory. Without warning they suddenly found themselves in a desperate struggle for survival in a divided Fort Laramie and a nation at war.

“It was you all along.” John spoke with a level tone, “It’s over now ’cause I’m goin’ to kill you, now DRAW!”

Don West, long-time Niobrara County resident, walked the country described in his first novel “Rawhide” as a small boy with his dad. The streams are real and the caves are there.

Be sure to stop by and visit with Don and have your book signed! Copies of “Rawhide” will be available for purchase.
