WEAVER

By Dona Eddy

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Weaver came to the Keeline area in 1911-1912 from Illinois. They had two children, Daryl "Doyle" of Illinois and Mary of Douglas, Wyo.    They were related to the Sam Jacksons.

They endured the hardships of the homestead era. Their son homesteaded farther to the west. It was told by others that he advertised for a mail order bride. She stayed with his parents until they were sure they were right for each other, then they were married.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Weaver retired and moved to Douglas. In 1940 they sold their homestead to Robert Groves.

It was at about this time that Daryl left and went back to Illinois.
