Funeral services for Mary Etta Dickau, 56, were held Saturday, June 14, 1986 at the Converse Funeral Chapel with Wes Walton officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Dickau died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 10, 1986 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver. Mary, the daughter of Henry Roscoe and Veda (Overacre) Ross was born Dec. 21, 1929 at Lusk. She was reared and educated at her family's ranch north of Lance Creek and graduated from Lusk High School.
She attended Sioux Falls College at Sioux Falls, SD where she received her teaching degree. She taught school a few years in Converse County following her graduation and was married to Dwayne Dickau on Mar. 3, 1951 in Douglas.
The couple worked and lived on the Dickau's ranch in Converse County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Walker Creek Homemakers Club.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dwayne of Douglas, one son, Dennis of Douglas; three daughters, Linda Vigil of Douglas, Janice Priddy of Odessa, TX, and LeAna Dickau of Douglas; four brothers, Marvin Ross and Tom Ross, both of Casper, Riley Ross of Lance Creek and John Ross of Denver; one sister, Jane Manning of Banning, CA; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Emma Lou Ross.
A memorial to the Arthritis Foundation has been established by the family.
