Funeral Service For Donovan Emery Mon.

Funeral service for Donovan Emery, 72, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ Congregational Church in Douglas with the Rev. Howard Hall officiating. Burial was in the Douglas Park Cemetery with the Stark-Lapham Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Emery died at the Converse County hospital last Thursday.

Mr. Emery was well-known to many here, having ranched north west of Lance Creek for many years on the Lightning Creek Ranch.

Mr. Emery was born Nov. 5, 1900 at Bridger, Mont. and his family moved to Thermopolis where he spent his early years. They moved to Douglas in 1914 where his father opened the LaBonte Hotel and several years later entered the ranching business.

Mr. Emery was married to Bernice Hazen July 21, 1923, in Douglas. They have made their home on the Lightening Creek ranch until recently, when they moved to Douglas, turning the ranch operations over to a son Bob. Emery was a member of the Wyoming Stockgrowers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two sons, Don H. of Douglas and formerly of Lance Creek and Robert D. and three grandsons and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Fletcher Delmon of Hebron, Neb.
