James L. Hansen

Services for James L. Hansen, age 47, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 (today) at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Lee Wisrotch officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, S. D.

Hansen died Friday, Dec. 28, 1990, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was born June 5, 1943, in Klamath Falls, Ore., the son of Ben A. and Helen (Bingham) Hansen. The family moved to South Dakota when he was an infant. He grew up on farms in the Wolsey, S. D., area. He attended Wolsey High School and served in the U. S. Army. Following his discharge, he worked for Martin Bech, Inc. in Huron, S.D.

Hansen married Pamela Smith on Feb. 23, 1975. In 1978 they moved to Hot Springs, S. D., where he worked for Hamlin Electric of Fort Morgan, Colo. In 1984, the family moved to Lusk where he became employed by the Town of Lusk as a power lineman.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lusk.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.

Survivors include his wife Pamela of Lusk; four daughters; Jamee and Christine, both of Lusk, Mrs. Laurie Nelson of Huron, S. D., and Lisa Hansen of Madison, S. D.; a son, David Hansen of Huron and Lusk; a step-son, Terry Smith of Wichita, Kan.; his mother, Helen Hansen of Wolsey, S. D.; a sister, Marvella (Mrs. Douglas) Chambers of Rapid City, S. D.; a brother, Max Hansen of Belle Fouche, S.D.; three nephews, six nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
