Note: Following is part of an email that was received from Jay Ehlinger, grandson of Elvie Graham, on 05/30/2006:
I know that his email comes many years after the fact but I would like to provide a correction to an obituary that was printed Feb 1998 regarding Elvie Russel Powell Graham or Elvie Wilson Graham. The person who submitted the obituary neglected to include my mother's name Grace (Wilson) Ehlinger. My mother was the middle child and although there were circumstances that created the omission I feel compelled to write this email. Most likely it is for my own purposes and to honor my mother who passed away almost two years ago without having had any contact with her sister or brother for over 53 years. The omission upsets me, because it implies that my mother never existed. She did and she was a good person who only desired some healing or closure with her mother and hopefully with her brother and sister. That opportunity has sadly passed.(...)
