Russell Adolph Krejci Of Hemingford, Neb., died July 7,2006, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance, Neb.

Russell was born on the home place, east of Hemingford on March 30,1928. Russell and his twin sister were delivered by family and later attended to by Dr. Peterson from Alliance.

Russell attended grade school at a country school and high school in Haysprings, 39 miles away. He would stay at a boarding house during the week and return home on the weekend to help with the ranch.

Russell enlisted with the Army on Jan. 31, 1951. In January of 1952, Russell was sent to Germany. It took two weeks to get over there by boat, so he was delighted to hear he would get to fly home. Inclimate weather spoiled his plans and he was forced to take another two-week boat ride home. Russell was honorably discharged as a forward lineman with the 5th artillery after serving a total of one year 11 months and four days.

Russell returned to the home place in January of 1953. He passed his time ranching, doing wood and metal crafts and was an avid antique collector. Russell won countless ribbons at the county fair for his crafts and antique displays.

Russell is proceeded in death by both parents Adolph Joseph Krejci and Ola Ethel (Nye) Krejci.

He is survived by his sister Ruby Ethel (Krejci) Ewing and her husband of Alliance, Neb.; two nephews Leroy and Ronnie Ewing and countless cousins and friends.

Services were held at the Cicmanec Pier Funeral Home in Lusk at 2 p.m. on July 12,2006. Interment followed at the Lusk cemetery.
