James W. Heth

Funeral services for James W. Heth, 69, of Minatare, Neb., were held Aug. 20, 1993, at the Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Boyd officiating. Heth died at Regional West Medical Center Aug. 19, 1993. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Minatare.

He was born July 23, 1924, at Hat Creek to Max and Elsie (Himes) Heth. He attended school at Hat Creek Community School. Mr. Heth entered the U.S. Army March 3, 1943, and served until Dec. 29, 1945, with the Army Corps of Engineers in which he was a cat skinner building air strips in the Pacific during World War II.

He married Tressa Boyd June 21, 1954, in Scottsbluff. He worked as a ranch hand for many years north of Lusk. After moving to Minatare, he worked for a land and cattle company. He retired from Kelley Bean Co. in 1985.

Survivors include his wife of Minatare; sons, Bill Heth, Scottsbluff; Wes Heth, Minatare; stepsons, Wayne McCoy, Casper; Marvin McCoy, San Jose Calif.; brothers, Rex L. Heth, Lusk; John W. Heth, Canyonville, Ore.; sisters, Evelyn Goddard, Lusk; Eula Swope, Canyonville; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established to his family.
