Clarence Hill

Clarence Chester Hill, 59, of Springville, Utah, died January 31 in a Salt Lake City hospital of natural causes. He was born on December 29, 1913 at Harrison, Neb., the son of Albert F. and Alice Kirkpatrick Hill. He grew up in the Hat Creek Valley community near Bodarc and attended school at Bodarc.

He was married to Berniece Evelyn Cole December 24, 1945. After their marriage they made their home in Wyoming. He worked for 14 years in the mines at Sunrise, Wyo., then two years in a uranium mine near Jeffrey City, Wyo. The past six years he had been employed in a copper mine near Salt Lake City.

Surviving are his wife of Springville, five sons and one daughter: Donald Perry Hill, St. George Utah; Clarence Elvin Hill, Dean Ray Hill, Steven Michael Hill and David James Hill all of Springville; Mrs. Randy (Linda Kay) Hartman of Germany; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Hill of Platte Center, Neb., and Clyde Hill of Harrison; three sisters, Mrs. Frances DeHaven of Harrison, Mrs. Orville Corbin and Mrs. Jake Hymer of Crawford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted February 2 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Brent Packard officiating. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
