Keith Burton Kaper

A memorial service for Keith Burton Kaper, 64, of Manville will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 6 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor David Shaner of the New Life In Christ Baptist Church in Lusk officiating.

Mr. Kaper passed away at his home in Manville on Sept. 4.

Born on July 9, 1942 in Lusk, he was the only child of Burton F. and Beatrice P. Kaper.

He married Eva Jean Latta on March 26, 1967 at English Lutheran Church Of Our Savior in Torrington.

Mr. Kaper served in the Army National Guard from 1961-1967. His basic training began in May 1961 at Fort Ord, Calif., following graduation from high school from Niobrara County High School in Lusk. He was an accomplished marksman. Following basic training, he received demolition training at Fort Lewis in Washington and he attained the rank of SP4 E4.

He loved science and he cherished the many awards he earned from 4H and FFA. He joined the American Hereford Association in March of 1966 and the Southeast Hereford Association in 1969; for a number of years he raised and sold registered Hereford bulls. He was an accomplished showman. He loved the ranch and as an adult he planned his annual month vacations so he could be home to repair fences and help his parents each summer.

He studied pharmacy at Southeast Wyoming College and the University of Wyoming and attained his associate of arts degree in 1971 from Southeast Wyoming College.

Mr. Kaper worked for the State of Wyoming, Department of Transportation.

He is survived his wife, Eva J. Kaper of Laramie; a daughter, Emily K. Easling of Laramie. His parents preceded him in death.
