Daughter Of Mr. And Mrs. E. Morrison Near Death In Denver

Word was received here Wednesday evening by Eddie Morrison, father of Mrs. Winifred Johns of Denver, Colo., that she is in a critical condition in a hospital there, suffering from peritonitis, and that little hope is held for her recovery. Mrs. John gave birth to a child last month and has since been seriously ill. She is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, the latter having been at her bedside for more than a month. Mr. Morrison left immediately upon receipt of the message from Denver.

Mrs. John will be remembered by many of the residents of this city, attending school here for several years, and making warm friends of all her acquaintances. Although the reports are far from encouraging at present, it is hoped that word of a change for the better may be received by friends of the family here within the next day of so.

Mrs. Doyle Johns Passes Away After Month's Illness
October 22, 1931

Mrs. Winifred M. Johns, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Morrison, who have resided in Lusk at internals for the past several years, passed away at mercy hospital in Denver Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock.

Mrs. Johns, who was 19 years of age at the time of her death, was formerly a student in the Lusk high school and had a large following of friends and admirers both in and out of her school classes. When the family moved from here to Denver, she met and became engaged to Doyle Johns, their marriage occurring a year ago. Although she had not finished her school at the time, Mrs. Johns promised her mother that she would graduate, and completed the course of study in the West high with the class of '31.

Mrs. John became a mother during the middle of October and shortly after the birth of the child, became seriously ill. She lingered on for more than a month, suffering the effects of blood poisoning, and during the last few days, blood transfusion was resorted to but without relief. The little daughter, Beverly Ann, along with the husband, survives.

Funeral services were conducted from the Olinger mortuary Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and interment was made in Fairmount cemetery. The host of friends of the family in this vicinity extend sincere condolences in this sorrowful occasion.
