Lillian Johnson Dies Oct. 28

The funeral for Lillian Johnson, 62, who died in a one car crash Oct. 28, was Monday at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. According to the police Mrs. Johnson was delivering mail about 6 miles north of Van Tassell when the car she was driving rolled down a 30-foot embankment. She was dead at the scene.

She was born Dec. 20, 1914 in Czechoslovakia. Her family came to America when Lillian was nine and settled in Chicago. It was there she received her education.

She moved to Lusk in 1933 and married Stanley A. Johnson in December 1936.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley of Lusk; two daughters, Donna Hotchkiss, Gillette, and Betty Mayworm; Fort Pierre, S. D.; two sisters, one brother, five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. Bernard Bianco presided at the funeral. Mrs. Edna DeCastro was the organist and Mark Lohr the soloist. The songs sung were "I Believe" and "In The Garden."

Honorary pallbearers were Allen Strodtman, Julian Phipps, Harvey Overman, Lester Lewis, Walt Schnorenberg and Clarence West.

Active pallbearers were George Dixon, Bud Morgan, Richard Schnorenberg, Clifford Ferris, Art Verick and Charlie Canfield.

Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Niobrara County Nursing Home.
