Funeral services for Roy G. Kerns, 41, of Jay Em, were conducted Tuesday, June 12, 1990 at 10 a.m. at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington by Rev. Milon Coleman.
Kerns died June 9, 1990 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. He was born Oct. 5, 1948, in Torrington to Jake and Bernice (Quade) Kerns. He was active in 4-H, the Future Farmers of America, and graduated from Torrington High School in 1968.
He graduated from heavy equipment school in Douglas and was employed in road construction work in the area. Kerns served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his children, Michael, Cheryl and Justin, all of Jay Em; his father and stepmother, Jake and Ida Kerns of Henry, Neb.; two sisters, Kathleen Weinkauf of Guernsey and Patricia McCabe of Cheyenne; two brothers, Fred Kerns and Dale Kerns, both of Thermopolis; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one sister, and his grandparents, Carl and Louise Quade.
Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Memorials to his children would be appreciated by the family.
