Melvin L. Kamp

Graveside services for Melvin L. Kamp were held Monday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lusk Cemetery with Rev. Roy Howell officiating.

Mr. Kamp died Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas. He was born June 13, 1900 in Argos, Ind., the son of Edward and Glenn Kamp. At the age of eight he moved with his family to a homestead four miles south of Lost Springs. He attended schools in Argos and at the Hoozier School near Lost Springs.

He worked on various ranches and for a time he and his brother Victor owned a ranch four miles south of Lost Springs. In 1952 he sold his interest in the ranch to his brother and moved to Douglas, where he lived until entering the nursing home there in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include one sister, Mable Kamp of Torrington, one brother, Victor Kamp also of Torrington, and many other relatives and friends.

Peet Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
