Earl Keeney Dies at Lusk Home Monday

Funeral service for Earl Keeney, 70, was held this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel. Mr. Keeney died Monday at his home following a long illness.

The Rev. Robert Boutwell conducted the service. Mrs. Judson P. Watson was organist and Russell Olmsted, soloist, sang "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers were Ray Taylor, Bob Baribeau, Al Taylor, Earl Quigley, Don C. Taylor and Howard Haworth.

Earl Leon Keeney was born February 15, 1902, to Myrtle Mae and Gettie James Keeney in Denver, Colo. He spent most of his early years in Denver. July 29, 1941, he was married to Alta Luella Marshall of Chadron, Neb. One son James was born to the couple.

The Keeneys came to Lusk in 1945 and Mr. Keeney worked for a number of years at the Lusk Elevator.

Survivors include his wife of Lusk and son James of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister Mrs. Melba Brinkhaus, Denver; and three brothers, Eugene and Ralph, Denver, and Raymond of San Francisco, Calif. His parents and five sisters died previously.
