Dr. Charles Kilgore

Funeral services for Dr. Charles M. Kilgore, age 58, of Wheatland, were held at The Colyer Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 28 with Reverend Robert Sewell officiating.

Graveside military rites were under the direction of Travis Snow Post #5 of the American Legion and the Wyoming National Guard. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Shrine Burn Centers.

Dr. Kilgore died in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, on Thursday June 23, 1988.

He was born January 11, 1930 in Wheatland and grew up and received his early education there. He attended the University of Wyoming. He married Arlene Betz in Fort Collins, Colorado on July 26, 1951 and after serving in the U.S. Army he graduated from Spears Chiropractic College in Denver in 1953. He moved to Lusk, Wyoming where he established the Kilgore Clinic and practiced chiropractic medicine there for ten years. He moved his clinic to Torrington in 1963 and then to Wheatland in 1986.

He was Past Commander of the American Legion in Lusk; a member of the Travis Snow Post #5 of the American Legion and Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E in Torrington; a member of the Wheatland Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M. Consistory #1 and the Wheatland Lodge #1636 of the Royal Order of Moose; the Wyoming Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of Wheatland; daughter Karen Murphy of Torrington; sons Dr. Charles Kilgore and Kenton Kilgore, both of Torrington; Clayton Kilgore of Rawlins, Michael Kilgore of Cheyenne and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
