Melvin E. Lambert

Funeral services for Melvin E. Lambert, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday July 20, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk. The Rev. Dick Kalber will officiate with interment to follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Lambert died Saturday, July 16, 1994, at his home in Lusk following a short illness. He was born March 20, 1909, at Gandy, Neb., the son of Elmer Burk and Inez Storm Lambert. He grew up on the family farm near Stapleton, Neb.

On February 15, 1934, he married Minnie E. Long at Broken Bow, Neb. Mrs. Lambert died in January of this year.

Melvin worked on the family farm until moving his family to Lusk in 1950. Over the years, he worked at the Kilmer Creamery and a number of local businesses. In 1966, Minnie and Melvin purchased Vic's Sandwich Shop which they operated until their retirement in 1977.

Besides his wife and his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by a brother Myron.

Survivors include two daughters, Patty and Kay, both of Lusk; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Barb Lambert of Riverton, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Julie Kander of Stanton, Neb., and Stacy Mohring of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two grandsons, Kelly Lambert of Billings, Mont., and Steve Mohring of Laramie, Wyo.; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Kyle; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations to the Melvin Lambert Memorial Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family, in care of the Bader Funeral Home. Bader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
