Minnie E. Lambert

Services for Minnie E. Lambert, age 79, were held Tuesday at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Rev. Nick Natelli officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Lambert died Saturday evening, January 29, at Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo.

She was born March 1, 1914, at Ord, Neb., the daughter of Porter and Emma Potter Long. She received her education in a country school near Arnold, Neb.

On February 15, 1934, she married Melvin E. Lambert at Broken Bow, Neb. and they made their home at Stapleton, Neb. for a number of years before moving to Lusk in 1950. Minnie worked for a number of businesses in the community until 1966 when Minnie and Melvin purchased Vic's Sandwich Shop which they operated until their retirement in 1977. In 1979 Minnie came out of retirement to help her daughter, Kay, with her flowershop. Minnie's special interest in life, besides her family and home was quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Long and Ella Hales; and two brothers, Allen and Emory.

She is survived by her husband Melvin of Lusk; two daughters, Patty and Kay both of Lusk; one son Don and his wife Barb of Riverton, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Julie Kander of Stanton, Neb. and Stacy Mohring of Santa Cruz, Calif., two grandsons Kelly Lambert of Billings, Mont. and Steve Mohring of Laramie, Wyo., one great grandson, Jacob Kander, four sisters, Viola Konings, Nova and husband Fred Vogel, and Louise Hermansen all of Arnold, Neb.; Twila and her husband Charles Kramer and a sister-in-law Frances Long all of Stapleton, Neb.; one brother Joe of Everett, Wash. and many nieces and nephews.

Donations to the Minnie Lambert Memorial Scholarship in care of Bader Funeral Home will be appreciated by the family.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.

Note: Although the obituary states that Minnie E. Lambert was born on March 1, 1914, both the Lusk Cemetery records and the U.S. Social Security Death Index state that her birthdate was March 12, 1914.
