George S. Lambert, Of Harrison, Nebr., Passes Away Here July 26th; Last Services Are Conducted Saturday

Final services were held for the late George S. Lambert, who passed away at the Spencer Hospital in this city, at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 28, in Harrison, Nebr., with Rev, Keith Brunning officiating at the rites.

The remains were to be taken to Ansley, Nebraska for interment. Casket bearers were Estelle Whitman, Fay Swope, Claude VanBlarcum, Dan Jordan, Jim Howard, and "Bunny" Chard.

George S. Lambert, a son of Theodore and Eliza Lambert, was born July 27, 1887 at Plainview, Illinois and departed this life at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 1956 at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk, Wyoming. He had attained the age of 88 years 11 months and 29 days.

He grew to young manhood in Illinois and was married to Mary R Combs, March 13, 1894. They became parents of seven children: Edward of Anchorage, Alaska; Kathryn Cockeril of Sacramento, Calif.; Julia Harris, Los Angeles, Calif.; Lillian Dobesh of Mason City, Iowa; Grace Holbrook, Portland, Oregon; Theodore C. of Pasadena, Calif., and Amos of Anchorage, Alaska.

The family moved from Illinois to Ansley, Nebr. where they made their home until 1929, when they moved to Crawford, Nebr. In 1936, he was employed on the ranch of Mrs. Jessie Wolff and her husband, the late Milo Wolff, and from there he went to work for Mrs. Mary Cross, where he was employed at the time of his illness.

George S. Lambert Dies Here July 26

George S. Lambert, 89, of the Whitman community died July 26 at the Spencer Hospital from complications of old age.

Funeral services were held in Harrison Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Brunning officiating and burial was made at Ansley, Nebr.

Mr. Lambert was born July 27, 1887 at Plainview, Ia. He has lived about 20 years on the Cross Ranch near Harrison.
