Irene W. Lerud

Services of Irene W. Lerud of Lusk, Wyoming were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 1989 at the Peet Mortuary with past presidents of B.P.O. Does #64 officiating.

Mrs. Lerud died Sept. 27, 1989 at Wyoming Medical Center, Casper, Wyoming. Born July 30, 1916 in Tony, Wis., she was the daughter of John and Gertrude Hirt. At the age of two the family moved to Minnesota. She attended grade schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from Roosevelt High School of Minneapolis in June 1935. She graduated from Minneapolis Business College in 1937.

On June 7, 1947 she married Orville Lerud in Minneapolis. The couple moved to Sacred Heart, Minn. and farmed for 30 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Co-op Products for seven years. She was assessor for Sacred Heart Township for 18 years. The couple moved to Lance Creek, Wyo. in 1972. She worked part time in Lance Creek School as assistant cook. In February 1978 they moved into Lusk, Wyo.

She was Past President of B.P.O. Does #64; and a member of the Bryant-Kant V.F.W. auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband and one daughter Joanne Skrukrud of Sacred Heart, Minn., three sons; Arvid Lerud, Sioux Falls, S.D., Roger Lerud, Sacred Heart, Minn., Olaf Lerud, Echo, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister Luverne Bissonette, Richmond, Minn. and several nieces and nephews.
