Mary Lillian Moulton

Mary Lillian (Maxfield) Moulton, 75, of Thornton, Colo., formerly of Laramie, died Jan. 6, at Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton.

She was born on July 31, 1929, in Appalachia, Va., a daughter to Paris M. and Bertha (Payne) Maxfield.

On Oct. 10, 1948, she married Clarence F. Moulton at the First Baptist Church in Laramie. Mary was a resident of Laramie from 1940 until 2002. While living in Laramie, she was employed as a waitress at "The Chef" and the "Midwest Cafe" and as a cook at the University of Wyoming Student Union. She retired in 1978.

Mary belonged to the First Church of the Nazarene in Laramie. She enjoyed bowling on numerous bowling leagues.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-mother, Feral Maxfield; one brother, Guy Maxfield and one sister Louella Maxfield.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen E. and Stephen McNay Smith of Brighton, Colo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence Randall and Pamela Sue Clark Moulton of Brighton, Colo. and James Lee and Judy Irene Gearhart Moulton of Laramie; three grandchildren, Stephen Aaron and Kelli Kissell Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, Justin James Moulton and Jaime Renee Moulton both of Laramie; two great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter Jay and Jeannie Dolan Maxfield of Cheyenne; a sister, Louise Peele of Laramie; a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Clyde Combs of Damascus, Va., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Jan. 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Funeral Home in Laramie. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Jan 11 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ed Davis officiating. Interment was Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. in Casper at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Kim Eppler, Rodger Hoiser, Jim Moulton, Juston Moulton, C. Randy Moulton, and Steve Smith. Honorary bearers were Jay Maxfield, M. O. Clark, Gary Feiner, Jerry Wessell, Steve Brown and Thomas Gonzales.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Source Hospice Services, Inc. 245 S. Benton St. #205, Lakewood, CO 80226, (303) 273-4673, or to the First Church of the Nazarene, 402 Corthell Rd., Laramie, WY 82070.

Services are under the direction of Rocky Mountain Funeral Home.
