Mangus dies

Funeral services for Clarence Elroy Mangus, 70, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church in Douglas. The Rev. Bob Nuhn will officiate. Burial will be in the Lusk cemetery at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Mangus died Tuesday, July 26 at Converse Memorial Hospital in Douglas. He was born on Sept. 5, 1906 at Beatrice, Neb.

On July 4, 1926, he married Lola Matter at Kanarado, Kan. They have one daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Jane) Kaan, who lives on the Kaan ranch, southeast of Lusk.

Mangus was manager of the Foster Lumber Company for 26 years in Goodland, Kan.; Lyman, Colo.; Torrington and Lance Creek. In 1962 he moved to Douglas where had been a life insurance agent. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Goodland and the Korein Temple at Rawlins.

Survivors include his widow, Lola, Douglas; his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Kaan and three brothers, Harold, Norton, Kan., Preston, Rock Springs, and Luther, Commerce City, Colo. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Windell and Mrs. Della Nagel, both of Kanarado and two grandchildren.

Flowers or memorials to the Congregational Church of Douglas would be appreciated by the family.
