Maxine W. Allen

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Maxine W. Allen, 89, of Riverton. Private burial will take place next to her husband at Mountain View Cemetery.

Maxine Allen died Nov. 11, 2003, at Wind River Health Care.

Maxine was born March 26, 1914, in Chadron Neb., to Boyd and Della (Hamilton) Weymouth.

She grew up and attended school in Chadron. Her family homesteaded around Lance Creek.

There she met Everett S. Allen, who worked for her father on the family ranch. He rode horseback 80 miles every weekend to court her.

They were married Dec. 6, 1930 in Torrington. They moved to Riverton in 1968, where he worked for Gilpatrick Construction.

Maxine enjoyed painting, loved her grandchildren, had a happy go lucky soul and was a jack of all trades. She attended the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Cecil "Patty" Benson; grandson Ken McCue of Riverton; Ron McCue of Thayne, Wyo.; great-grandchildren, Jamie McCue of Fort Collins, Colo.; Chad McCue of Boise, Idaho; Shalee McCue of Laramie and Kelsie Black of Logan, Utah; and one Great-Great- grandson, Mason Black of Logan, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Everett on April 22, 2001; daughter Bonita Mae; one brother; two sisters; and a grandson, George McCue.
