Loudema "Irene" McCreary

Funeral services for Loudema "Irene" McCreary, 85, were held Aug. 13, 1999, at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, with Andy Gudahl, officiating. Interment was in the Wheatland Cemetery.

Mrs. McCreary died at her home in Wheatland Aug. 10, 1999.

Irene was born July 23, 1914, in East Lynne, Mo., the daughter of James W. and Alta (Childs) Daly. When Irene was seven, she moved with her family to Burns, Kan., where she met her future husband, Melvin Wilton "Mac" McCreary. They were married Sept. 8, 1932.

In the early years of their marriage, the McCrearys farmed in Burns and Chelsea, Kan. In 1946, they visited family in Wheatland and decided to move to Wheatland in 1947.

Irene was Mac's partner in many of his endeavors, from a coin operated dry cleaning business to a worm farm operation. They enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Irene is survived by three daughters: Virginia Accord of Craig, Colo.; Judy Woolsey of Yucaipa, Calif.: and Jeannie Wilcox of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; eight grandchildren, including Cory and Chad Wilcox of Lusk; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Williams.

She died with her husband, M.W. "Mac" McCreary.

Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Woolsey, George Woolsey, Cory Wilcox, Chad Wilcox, Chet Accord, Don McLean and Nathan Lewis.

Memorials to the Platte County Memorial Hospital, Family Comfort Room, 201 14th Street, Wheatland, WY 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
