Dorothy Marie McDaniel

Memorial service for Dorothy Marie McDaniel who died suddenly on January 8 was held last Saturday at Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Dorothy Rawhouser, daughter of Mack and Mable Rawhouser on October 5, 1923 at Newcastle. She spent her childhood in Lusk graduating from high school here. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and other functions throughout her life.

She and William McDaniel were married on June 24, 1944, and were the parents of one daughter Linda. The McDaniels have lived on a ranch in northern Niobrara County for several years. During the war years, the family moved to Louisiana and to Washington State to be with Mr. McDaniel while he served in the Air Corp.

Active bearers were Holly Jones, Brad Jones, Jack Pfister, Clayton Dixon, Jim Wasserburger and J.D. Wasserburger. Minerva Watson was organist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Arline. Survivors include her daughter Linda Peterson and her stepfather Glen Langley of Crawford, four grandchildren and a brother Charles Rawhouser.
