Bud McDaniel Dies at Douglas

O.W. "Bud" McDaniel, formerly of the field and for the past five years a resident of Douglas died following a heart attack while driving down town in Douglas. He had retired in 1963 after working for the Continental Oil Company here in the field as field production manager.

Otto W. McDaniel was born March 4, 1900, in Missouri. While a small child he moved with his parents to Oklahoma, where he was reared and educated. He moved to Midwest, Wyo. in 1920 to work in the oil fields. Mr. McDaniel and his family came to Lance Creek in 1938 where he was employed by the Continental Oil Company. He remained here until his retirement in 1963 when he moved to Douglas to make his home. While a resident of the field he was a member of the local Odd Fellow Lodge.

Funeral services were held in Casper at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Bustard Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Moenkhaus of the First Congregational Church officiated. Burial was made in Highland Cemetery beside his wife, Cleo, who died in 1953.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by 2 sons, Kent and Larry McDaniel of Houston, Texas, one daughter, Linda McDaniel of Lander, Wyo.; his mother, Mrs. Josie McDaniel of Guthrie, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Mrs. Oda Lee Gandy of Shawnee, Okla. and Mrs. Mary Ramsey of Pade, Okla., and 3 grandchildren.
