Ela "June" Riehle

Funeral services for Ela "June" Riehle, 91, were held Oct. 23 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Douglas with Pastor Delbert Dick (retired) of the American Missionary Fellowship officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

June Riehle passed from this life to her new home in Heaven on Oct. 17.

She was born to James Albert and Ela Rosalind (Mann) Good in Chambers, Neb. on June 29, 1915, the second youngest of five children.

The family moved to Wyoming when she was four years old. They lived in Douglas for two years then settled in the Dull Center area. She attended grade school at Dull Center and high school in Douglas, where she boarded at various homes to attend school, graduating in 1935. On May 3, 1935 in Casper, she was married to August Henry Riehle, and they moved to a ranch near the Bill community. To this union was born Wayne Henry and Donna June. In 1950 they purchased another ranch on Lightning Creek, moving there in 1952. They lived on the ranch until August's death on Feb. 19, 1995. She later married George W. Riehle on Oct. 15, 1995 in Buffalo, Wyoming. They lived on the ranch and in the past few years have gradually moved to their home in Douglas. June loved life, the country, and ranching. Her life was centered on her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. All of her extended family was close to her, along with many young families from the community and those who worked on the ranch. Her close relationship with Christ was a priority, attending American Missionary Fellowship Sunday School at Bill and Walker Creek, where she was active as Superintendent, children's teacher, or whatever needed to be done. Together with daughter-in-law and granddaughter, she started an after school Bible club for children of the community. From community swimming or skating parties in the early years to family holiday gatherings and more, it was a great joy to her to get people together for good fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, George, of Douglas; sister, Frances Wells of Gillette; children, Wayne and wife Jan Riehle of Douglas and Donna and husband Clayton Dixon of Lance Creek; grandchildren, Pam and husband David Dick of Douglas, Lori Bailey of Andover, Minn., John Riehle of Douglas, Tom Dixon of Lance Creek, and Ken and wife LeAnn Dixon of Lance Creek; great grandchildren, Taylor, Colton, and Megan Dick of Douglas, Joshua and Brandon Sawyer and Sierra Bailey all of Andover, and Brenna and Garett Dixon of Lance Creek; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Bert, mother Ela, husband August, sisters Agnes Good and Rua Kirk; and brother, Maurice Good.

Serving as pallbearers were Tom Reed, Fay Edison, Max Miller, Ben Middleton, Roger Elerbeck, and Earl Reed. Serving as honorary pallbearers were all of her many friends.

A memorial to the American Missionary Fellowship, P.O. Box 370, Villanova, PA 19085 or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
