Boyd Minter Dies; Burial to Be in Lusk

Boyd Minter of Oklahoma city, brother-in-law of Mrs. Rulo Roberts and former policeman in Lusk, died Monday. The body will be returned to Lusk for burial and graveside services. Mr. and Mrs. Rulo Roberts left Monday for Oklahoma City.

Last Rites Held For Boyd Minter

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Peet Chapel for Boyd Minter, 61, brother-in-law of Mrs. Rulo Roberts, who died June 24 in Oklahoma City. Rev. Jacob Nein officiated at the services. Final military rites were held at the Lusk Cemetery.

Color bearers were Charles Blagg, American Legion, and Jimmy McCune, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Cecil Toby and Vernon Petersen were color guards. The flag was folded by Warren Schroefel with Chuck Vaughn presenting it to Mrs. Minter.

Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Miss Phyllis John sang "In The Garden" and "Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist.

Casket bearers were Vic Senters, C. E. Marvin, M. S. Jordan, Noal Larson, John Lorenzen and Helmuth Klemke.

Robert Boyd Minter was born August 4, 1896 in Central City, Nebr. He married Laverda Boyd of Central City in 1920. They were the parents of six children. In 1944 he married Ruth Thompson.

He homesteaded north of Lusk in 1920, later moving to Lusk where he served as justice of the peace and deputy county treasurer from May 7, 1929 to May, 1935. In 1937 he joined the Lusk police force serving here for several years. He later moved to Oklahoma where he was employed as an aircraft electrician until the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, and six children by his former marriage: Mrs. La Verne Runyan, Denver; Mrs. Mary Howard, Lander; Mrs. Ellogene Harland, Sellersville, Pa.; Mrs. Edna Crotteau, Riverton; Gordon Minter, Lander; Mrs. Darlene Hopwood, Las Vegas. One sister, Mrs. Ethel Ellis of Allen Nebr. survives.
