Services for Margaret Mitchell, 67, of Torrington were Wednesday, Sept. 9 at St. Rose Catholic Church. Rev. J. E. Moroney officiated. She died Friday, Sept. 4, 1987 at Community Hospital in Torrington.
Mrs. Mitchell was born July 23, 1920 at Sargent, NE, the daughter of Willis T. and Catherine (Arthur) Bowman. She moved with her family to Lusk in 1929 and to Torrington in 1933.
On February 20, 1940, she married Lawrence Mitchell at Harrisburg, NE. They lived in Torrington most of their married life.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose Altar Society, the Torrington Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Does of the Torrington Elks Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, a son Larry; her parents, and one grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Wells of Torrington; four sons, Ed and Pat Mitchell of Cheyenne; Jack Mitchell of Torrington; Mike Mitchell of Sidney, NE; one brother LeRoy Bowman of Lincoln, NE; two sisters, Becky Eddleman of Wheatland and Erma Petty of Torrington; her step-father, R. C. Carroll of Torrington; three step-sisters, Margaret Ford of Sargent NE; Gertie Poage of Keeline; Elizabeth Huebotter of Placentia, CA and 18 grandchildren.
Memorials to a charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, with Colyer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
