Kenneth G. Morse

Kenneth Grant Morse, 19, of the Cheyenne River community died last Saturday of injuries suffered in a Newcastle car crash.

Highway patrolmen said the pickup in which he was riding swerved into the path of an oncoming truck.

A native of Hot Springs, the son of Keith and Alta Jean Morse, Kenneth grew up in north Niobrara County and he attended Cheyenne River School. He was graduated from Newcastle High School in 1978.

Kenneth worked for a year in construction and for Burlington Northern Railroad before starting the fall semester at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington.

He was a member of Future Farmers of America, in which he raised several outstanding sheep projects. He was also a member of the Cheyenne River 4-H Club from 1970 to 1974.

Kenneth is survived by his parents and a sister, Susan all of the Cheyenne River area.

A service was set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. Robert Hunter officiating. Burial was to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Future Farmers of America. Contributions may be delivered to Newcastle's McColley Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
