Last Rites Held For Guy Mosier

Many residents of the field attended funeral services for Guy Alva Mosier, Saturday at the Peet Mortuary. Mr. Mosier died last Tuesday at Evanston at the age of 78.

Guy Alva Mosier, son of Theodore and Nancy Mosier, was born in Lynn County, Kansas, January 2, 1886.

During his early years he worked as a carpenter and ranch hand in Nebraska where he met Myrtle Young whom he married on July 21, 1909 at Gordon, Neb. There he farmed until 1916. The Mosiers came to Wyoming by covered wagon and homesteaded near Lance Creek where he was engaged in ranching until 1935. The family moved to Lance Creek where he built a home and was active in oil field construction work for the next few years. In 1941, he retired and spent the winters in Arizona.

Mr. Mosier was an ardent sportsman, fishing and boating in the winter and hunting in the fall. He devoted a major portion of his energy to the Odd Fellow Lodge. He was a past Nobel Grand of IOOF Lodge No. 13 and a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 22 of Lance Creek.

Survivors include his wife Myrtle, a son, Clem of Lance Creek; a daughter Velma Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada; three brothers, Melvin of Miami Shores, Fla., Nelson of Horton, Kansas, and Lester of Topeka, Kan., seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Those bearing the remains to their final resting place were Dale Henton, Walter F. Kant, Ray Austin, Lee Moore, John Moore and Kenneth Hawkins, all of Lance Creek. Honorary pallbearers were C.V. Lee, William Croft, Fred Sheaman, and C. C. Gillespie of Lance Creek and Fred McNeil and O. W. "Bud" McDaniels of Douglas.

Relatives attending the services included Nelson Mosier, of Horton, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boyd of Bellevue, Colo.; Mrs. Wilma Thompson, Greeley, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Young, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Billiter, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger McCray, Gordon, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. William Stiver and family, Van Tassell; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Matson and son, Wheatland; Leo Mosier, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Wilson and family, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Velma Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. William Schaefer, Harrison; Mrs. Ruth Pearce, Cheyenne.
