John H. Niles

John H. Niles, 66, of 4726 Windmill Road, Cheyenne, WY, died Thursday April 6 at the VA Medical Center.

Born Aug. 19, 1922 in Savageton, he had served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Following this he was an engineer for the Wyoming Highway Department for 35 years, stationed at Gillette, Lusk and Cheyenne, retiring in 1976. Thereafter Niles was associated with a Grocery Business in Guernsey plus a Bingo operation in Cheyenne until he moved to Hawaii in 1984 where he was in the Tourist Boating Business on the Island of Maui. Niles moved back to Cheyenne in May of 1988.

Niles is survived by his wife, Louise, (a daughter of the late Harry M. and Pauline Ferneau of Lusk) who he married June 8, 1947 while stationed at Lusk. Also surviving Niles; one son, Rodney J. Niles and one daughter, Kristine Barnard, both of Cheyenne; one sister, Frances Rhoades, of Gillette and one grandson, Andrew J. Barnard, of Cheyenne.

Arrangements are being handled through Wiederspahn Chapel of the Chimes. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 14 at Sunnyside Baptist Church located North of E. Pershing at Highway 30.
