Art Rathbun Dies Monday; Funeral Wed.

Arthur H. Rathbun, 72, of Manville died in the Goshen County Memorial Hospital at Torrington Monday. Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk this Wednesday afternoon and burial was in the Manville Cemetery.

Mr. Rathbun had undergone surgery last Wednesday and evidently had suffered a heart attack following the surgery.

Mr. Rathbun was Mayor of Manville and was a candidate for re-election in the election this coming Tuesday.

The Rev. C. W Jervis of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated at the services. Mrs. J. P. Watson was the organist and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Con Showalter sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "In The Garden."

Casketbearers were Floyd Alexander, Alvin Alexander, Aaron Frye, William Glandt, Allen Leeling, Arthur Ferris.

Mr. Rathbun was born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rathbun August 17, 1892 at Strange, Nebr. and was educated and reared in Bower, Nebr. He and Edith Mae Showalter were married at Fairburg, Nebr. They came to Manville in 1929.

He is survived by his widow, three children, Mrs. Margaret Lamb of Lusk, Floyd of Rawlins, and Mrs. Leila Gladson of Manville; three brothers, John of Garden Grove, Calif., Charles of Scottsbluff, Fred of Lyman, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Myers of Gurley, Nebr., and Mrs. Myrtle Showalter of Craig, Colo. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
