Edna Rice Funeral Held In Torrington

Funeral service was held Friday in Torrington for Mrs. Edna Mae Rice, 83, of Torrington. Mrs. Rice and her husband lived on a homestead near Lusk for twenty years before moving to Torrington.

She was born August 21, 1891, at Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary Fisher Hubbard. She married Lloyd L. Rice at Monticello in 1916 and soon after their marriage they moved to the homestead near Lusk.

The couple moved to Torrington in 1939 and have lived there since except for a few years when they lived in Lingle. Mr. Rice died in 1951.

Mrs. Rice was a member of The Bethel Baptist Church in Torrington.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur of Hermiston, Ore., and Galen of Torrington; two brothers Harold Hubbard of Brownsville, Texas and Myron Hubbard of Boise, Idaho; four sisters Miss Florence Hubbard and Mrs. Hazel Barker of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Minnie Buckner of Monticello, Iowa and Mrs. Inez Carpenter of Fort Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, one infant daughter and two brothers died previously.
