Funeral services for Ramon "Buz" Rife, 59, of Laramie, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 1990 at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington with Rev. Julie Christensen officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Torrington Masonic Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Educational Fund at the church and to The American Cancer Society. Rife died at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver on Saturday, March 10.
He was born March 11, 1930 at Torrington the son of Herman and Georgia (Barkell) Rife. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1948 and on Feb. 6, 1949 he married Betty Knight at Torrington. He managed propane gas services in several towns in Wyoming. They have lived in Laramie the past six years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Laramie; a daughter, Merry Miller of Douglas; three sons, D. Craig Rife of Sioux City, Iowa; Earl Rife of American Falls, Idaho and Ramon Rife Jr. of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Georgia Rife of Torrington; a brother, Jack Rife of Torrington; a sister, Jan Serres of Buffalo, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson.
