Walter H. Siebe

Services for Walter H. Siebe, 82, were conducted January 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming, with the Reverend David Boehnke officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery.

Siebe died January 18, 1995, at the Wyoming Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1912, at a farm near Hansen, Nebraska, to Fred and Anna (Scholle) Siebe. He grew up and received his education near Jansen. He later farmed in the area before moving to Hebron, Nebraska, at the age of 35.

Siebe ran his own upholstery business there and moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico, in 1951 where he worked for the gas company and continued in the upholstery business.

In February of 1964, he moved to Casper and founded Siebe Upholstery Company. He retired in 1979.

In 1990, he married Linda (Laurance) Stortz in Casper. Mr. Siebe enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid reader.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a founding member of the local chapter of the Good Sam, Whirlwind Chapter.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Richard Siebe of Casper, Jerry Siebe of Santa Clara, California, Robert Siebe of Gwinn, Michigan, Philip Stortz of Lewisville, Colorado, and Geoffrey Stortz of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Other survivors include four sister, Frieda Meyer of Iowa, Erna Zimmerman, Nora Zleman of Nebraska and Wilma Eaton of Kansas; two brothers, Marvin and Donald Siebe, both of Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother and two sisters.

Either flowers or memorials to the Central Wyoming Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice Program would be appreciated by the family. Memorials may be left at the Bustard Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
