Georgia Snyder Dies January 25

Georgia W. Snyder, resident of Sioux County for many years, died at Scottsbluff January 25. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison and burial was in the Harrison Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Shrout officiated. Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were J. O. Seaman, Everett Thomas, Herb Geike, E. E. Whiteaker, Melvin Nation, and LaVerne Hanley. Mrs. Ruth Hall was organist and accompanied Mrs. Allen Grimm, Mrs. John Skavdahl, Mrs. Ted King and Mrs. Charles Mumby as they sang "Under His Wings."

Georgia W. Snyder, daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Ellen Westmoreland was born January 25, 1883, at Springfield, Mo.

She married Thomas Alva (Al) Snyder on May 18, 1904, and one son was born. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Agate. Later they moved to Indian Creek and then to Jim Creek.

She leaves her son, John Alva Snyder of Harrison; three sisters, Ethel Johnson, and Rose Reeder both of Guymon, Okla. and Norma of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on June 5, 1957, her parents, a brother Charles and two sisters, May Stratton and Bess Walker.
