Dorothy L. Snyder

It has been learned that former Lance Creek resident Dorothy L. Snyder died July 3, 1992, at the West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody. Services were held July 7 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cody with Rev. Roger Waid officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Snyder was born March 12, 1898, at LaCygne, Kan., the daughter of Fred and Mabel Elder Cox.

She married Oscar E. Snyder on June 19, 1929, in LaCygne. The couple moved to Wyoming and lived in Grass Creek until 1952 when Oscar was transferred to Lance Creek with Ohio (now Marathon) Oil Company. He retired in 1963 and they moved to Cody.

She enjoyed working with flowers in her garden. For many years, she delivered meals for the Rolling Meals program. She was a member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Meeteetse. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church and a member and past president of the United Presbyterian Women's organization.

She is survived by two sons, James of Cody and Robert of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Cox of Cody and Dillard Cox of Auburn, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
