Haley Steele Dies Of Old Age Mon.

Haley Morris Steele, 84, of Lusk died Monday in the Spencer Hospital from complications of old age. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from Peet Chapel with Frank Bozart officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Otha B. Holcomb sang "Face to Face" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Pallbearers were Jim McGinnis, Clair Lee, Albert Penn, Andrew Christian, Kenneth Ayerhood and Howard Haworth.

Haley Morris Steele was born January 4, 1874 at Albia, Iowa. In 1902 he married Eva Mae Shields. They were parents to two sons, David and George.

He moved his family to Niobrara County in 1923 and has resided here since that time. He was employed by the railroad and in construction work before retiring.

Survivors include one son, George of Sundance; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wife, one son, two brothers and one sister previously died.
