Pioneer Resident Killed in Denver Car Crash Wed.

Mrs. Ruby E. (Rimington) Stewart, 84, of Lingle and an early pioneer of this area, died September 14 in the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, as the result of injuries suffered in a car accident last Wednesday.

Dr. and Mrs. Stewart were in Denver to attend the funeral of her brother, Dr. O. S. Fowler. Returning from the funeral, the car in which Mrs. Stewart was riding was hit by a car that had failed to stop at a stop sign, her car was forced into a third car.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Howard's Park Avenue Chapel in Denver at 1:00 p.m., with interment in Fairmont Cemetery.

Mrs. Stewart was born October 23, 1887 at Blandensville, Ill. She attended schools in Illinois, Kansas and State Teachers College at Greeley, Colo. She came to Douglas in 1910 where she married Fredric Wilson Rimington, who died in 1946. She married Dr. David Stewart in November of 1962. She lived in Manville before settling in Lingle where she was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church there and a 50 year member of the Lingle O.E.S., a member of the county library board and other civic and women's clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Stewart of Lingle, a daughter, Mrs. Dana Peterson, her son-in-law, Dana R. Peterson and a granddaughter, Dana Lynne Peterson all of Denver.
