Elsie Thompson Dies Here Mon.

Mrs. Elsie Hull Thompson, 70, died at the Spencer Hospital Monday afternoon at 4:45. She had become suddenly ill early Saturday morning and underwent surgery Sunday. She is the mother of Russell Thompson, rancher in the Indian Creek community and has lived here since March of 1957.

She was born at Sedan, Neb., July 13, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Hull and was married to John C. Thompson in St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 1, 1911. The family lived at Edgar, Neb. for a time where Mr. Thompson operated a hardware store, then operated a ranch at Wood Lake, Neb. until Mr. Thompson's death in 1929.

Mrs. Thompson then moved to Whitney, Neb. where she operated both a general store and a farm until 1943 when she sold the store. She retained the farm until the past year.

Surviving are her two children: one son, Russell, and a daughter, Miss Lois Thompson of Denver. There are five grandchildren: Cody, Leif, Tom, Roxann and Link, children of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Thompson. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother: Mrs. C. E. King of Blackfoot, Ida.; Mrs. Arthur Chance, Ft. Collins, Colo.; and Clay Hull, Edgar, Neb. One brother, Max Hull, died in 1917.
