Funeral services for Mary Susan Ballentine, 97, of Anderson, Ind. were held Jan. 25, 2000, at the Copher & Fesler Funeral Home in Elwood, Ind., with Pastor Paulette Stalke of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Elwood officiating. Burial was in the Elwood City Cemetery.
Mary Ballentine died Jan. 21, 2000, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, Ind. after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 20, 1902 in Elwood to Royal and Mary Elizabeth (Clary) Knotts.
She married George Ballentine on June 25, 1939.
She lived in Elwood most of her life, but formerly lived in Lance Creek for five years, before returning to Elwood. After her husband's retirement, they spent the winter months in Lake Placid, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband George, son William of Jupiter, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
