Jeanette "Jane" Armstrong

Funeral services for Jeanette "Jane" Armstrong, age 79 of Gillette were held Jan. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Firminhac Officiating. Visitation was Jan. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Armstrong died Jan. 12, 2007 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born on April 25, 1927, in Parkerton the daughter of Emil and Edna (Piper) Lehman. Her family moved to Lance Creek where she received her elementary education. She completed her high school education at Natrona County High School in Casper. On Nov. 4, 1944 she married her lifelong partner and best friend, David T. Armstrong, in Grand Island, Neb.

They were stationed at many bases within the United States while he served in the United States army Air Corps. They lived with their four children in Lance Creek, soon transferring to Gillette in 1960 where the family still lives. She was the bookkeeper for 12 years at Harwood's Lumber Mart. Jane continued her career with the Campbell County School District, where she retired as head bookkeeper. Her entire life was based on serving others. Jane enjoyed crafts, many bridge partners, close friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her four children: Donna Heald of Weston, her children: Bobbi Jo and A.C. Heald; David (Linda) Armstrong, his children: Vicki (Scott) Cashette their children: Morgan, Makaylah and Mason; Tami (Matt) Cox and their children: David and Madison and Janice all of Colo.; Denise Shuster (Gordie) of Gillette, her children: Jason of Gillette, and Krista (Anthony) Gabriele of Cheyenne; and Debra (Scott) Shaw, his children: Robert and Larry Shaw of Gillette; one brother, Richard Lehman of Calif.; one brother-in-law, Martin Armstrong of TX. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband of 61 years, her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two sons-in-law preceded her in death.
