Last Rites Held For Wm. Vaughn

Last rites were held for Wm. (Bill) Vaughn at the Peet Chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Mr. Vaughn had died February 16th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Morris.

The hymns sung were "Asleep in Jesus" and "Great is Thy Faithfulness." The singers were Mrs. Maude Bonner and Mrs. Edna DeCastro. Mrs. J. P. Watson was the organist. Casket bearers were Lou Bass, Cy Bonner, Francis Church, Ed McKelvey, Walt Schnorenberg and Wm. Brunckhorst. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Vaughn was born in Louisa County, Iowa, September 19, 1884, the son of Jesse and Margaretta Vaughn. He grew to manhood and received his elementary education in that community.

About 1915 he followed his parents who had homesteaded in the vicinity of Lusk. Being a carpenter by trade he pursued his occupation chiefly in and around Harrison and Van Tassell, until twelve years ago, when he moved to Lusk.

He was a charter member of the Masonic Order at Harrison.

Surviving are two brothers, C. M. Vaughn of Des Moines, Iowa, and Walker E. Vaughn of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ross Smith of Lincoln, Neb., and one niece, Mrs. Raymond Morris of Lusk. His parents and a sister, Katheryn, preceded him in death.

William Vaughn Dies Early Monday Morning

Wiliam "Bill" Vaughn, 68, died at 6:30 Monday morning, Feb 16, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Raymond Morris, who with her husband resides at the Kilmer Dairy south of Lusk.

Mr. Vaughn and his sister, the late Miss Catherine Vaughn, who nursed here for a number of years, came to Wyoming about 1915 and settled on a ranch south of Van Tassell where they engaged in the ranching business.

Due to failing health Mr. Vaughn moved into Lusk several years ago.

Funeral services will be held at the Peet Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, Walker Vaughn of San Jose, Calif., and C.M. Vaughn, Des Moines, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. Ross Smith of Lincoln, Nebr., and his niece, Mrs. Morris, with whom he was making his home.
