E. F. Weigand Dies September 6

Ernest F. Weigand, 75, a resident of Niobrara County for 45 years, died of cancer in the Memorial Hospital last Wednesday. He had been a patient at the hospital for several weeks.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, from the Peet Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Bozart in charge. Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro sang "Beautiful Isle" and "In the Garden." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were Bud Hoblit, O. M. Rasmussen, John Lorenzen, Vic Senters, Chas. Hitshew and Robert Packard. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

Mr. Weigand was born at Scribner, Neb., December 20, 1885. He lived there until he came to Wyoming in 1916 to homestead near Lance Creek. He married Miss Mary Howard at Manville, September 14, 1920. He did farm work for many years before moving to Lusk 17 years ago. He was employed by the Town of Lusk for several years. Mrs. Weigand died March 6, 1958. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lora Hinrichsen of Lusk and Mrs. Carl Hall of Pender, Neb., and a brother, Herman Weigand of Omaha.
