Howard Eugene Wilson, 70, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away at his home Tuesday, August 8, 1995. Father Bryan Brooks officiated at the funeral service held in St. John's Catholic Church at Stillwater, Oklahoma, Saturday, August 12, while Reverend William Holloway delivered the eulogy.
Howard Eugene Wilson was born August 12, 1924, at Hat Creek, Wyoming, the son of Marvin M. and Laura I. Sheridan Wilson.
Wilson attended elementary school at Lusk, Wyo., during his early years and graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper.
After completing his education, he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and was stationed in New Zealand and the Western Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He then returned to Casper and was employed as a route salesman until moving to Oklahoma City in 1950, where he sold insurance and worked for Borden Dairy until 1956.
Later that year he began a long career with Humpty Dumpty that concluded with his retirement in 1984.
He was a highly accomplished bowler and enjoyed participation in various organizations: Knights of Columbus, VFW, Eagles, American Legion, ABA, YABA, BPAA, Teamsters, and was a mall inhabitor.
He especially enjoyed supporting and coaching various little league clubs in the Oklahoma City area.
Survivors include his five children-two daughters and three sons: Mary "Micki" Fry and husband, David of Dallas, Ga.; Linda "Christy" Cline and husband, David, of Stillwater, Okla.; Howard R. Wilson and wife, Patricia, of Fredricksburg, Va.; Marty Wilson and wife, Lori L., of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Thomas Wilson and wife, Vivian L., of Blackwell, Okla.; and ten grandchildren.
Also surviving him are two brothers - Bill Wilson of Sterling, Colo., and Marvin Wilson of Casper, Wyo.; and four sisters - Lois Adams of Denver, Colo.; Rosemary Anderson of Portola, Cal.; Vivian Wilson of Chicago, Ill.; and Nancy Miller, Volcan, Cal. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the Stillwater arrangements. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
