V. W. Wingren Dies Saturday

V. W. Wingren, Justice of the Peace for Niobrara County, died Saturday morning at a Scottsbluff hospital. He had been in ill health in recent years. Funeral services were conducted from the Olinger Funeral Home in Denver Tuesday with burial in Denver.

Mr. Wingren entered the Scottsbluff hospital October 24.

He had been justice of peace in Lusk for many years. On the wall of the Niobrara Sheriff's office is a plaque which reads; "Mr. and Mrs. North Award is hereby presented through the auspices of the Chief of Police John F. O'Donnell to Mr. V. W. Wingren in recognition of service and duties which made him Denver's outstanding detective for the year 1947."

Survivors include one son, Howard, a teacher at Hot Springs, S. Dak.
