Graveside service for Vivian Oneal Wise, age 98, was held Nov. 19. Mrs. Wise died Nov. 15, at her home in Douglas, Wyo.
Vivian was born Dec. 1, 1894, on her parents' farm in Washington Township, Appanoose County near Moulton, Iowa, the daughter of Elwin "Hodge" E. and Adda (Phillips) Oneal.
She completed her high school education and Normal Teacher's Training before coming to Big Piney, Wyo., in 1914, as a rural school teacher, in 1916, she moved to teach school in Manderson, Wyo.
In December 1925, she married Harry L. Wise in Basin, Wyo. Her only son, Robert, was born in Basin.
She moved with her husband to Torrington, Wyo., in 1928. Mrs. Wise organized and taught a kindergarten for the area children. In 1934, she moved to Rawlins, Wyo., where her husband began his optometric practice. In 1941, the family moved to Douglas where her husband practiced optometric also.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Wise of Douglas, Wyo.; and three grandsons, Dr. William Wise, Ronald H. Wise and James R. Wise, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; one granddaughter, Joyce Wise Zebe of Casper, Wyo.; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her husband on March 11, 1967.
