Graveside Service for James Bentley

Graveside service was held October 6 for James J. Bentley, a former Niobrara County, homesteader in the Lusk Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Robert Boutwell officiated. Mr. Bentley died October 2 at the home of his daughter in Riverton.

James J. Bentley was born January 4, 1882 at Omaha, Neb., the son of Horace and Mary Jane Burrows Bentley. He married Lura Etta Hawkins in May 1904 at Neligh, Neb., and they made their home at Neligh until 1914 when he homesteaded near Lusk. He again lived at Neligh until about four years ago when he moved to Riverton.

Mr. Bentley is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. R. (Minnie) Pavey of Riverton; one brother Rolla Bentley of Neligh; one granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Etta) Beck; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, and two sisters.
